  • Introduction

Your Accu-Chek Combo insulin delivery system has two parts that work together; an insulin pump and the diabetes manager (also known as "the meter"). Through Bluetooth® wireless technology, the diabetes manager allows you to control your pump similar to how a car remote control allows you to steer a toy car. The diabetes manager provides many other features and functions such as:

    • Convenient blood glucose testing with fast test results
    • Small blood sample size allows blood glucose testing from the fingertip and approved other sites (e.g., palm or forearm, consult your "Users Manual" prior to using alternate sites)
    • Detects unreliable blood glucose test results automatically
    • Collects all your diabetes data, such as blood glucose test values, boluses and many other events and reports them as data, graphs and tables
    • Calculates bolus recommendations based on your personal parameters and manually entered data at the time of testing
    • Offers optional reminder to help you remember things like doctor visits or when to test your blood glucose level

Together, your pump and diabetes manager provide discreet, flexible and convenient insulin pump therapy. In this lesson, we focus on the button functions of the diabetes manager.
