    There are three user menus to choose from on the Accu-Chek Spirit Combo insulin pump. These include the STANDARD, ADVANCED and CUSTOM menus. If you are new to insulin pump therapy, the STANDARD menu is the recommended choice. If you are becoming more experienced, the ADVANCED menu may be more suitable for you. This lesson focuses on the menu options available to you.

    The three menu options available to you are:

    1. STANDARD:
      • Includes basic functions needed for insulin pump therapy.
      • Well suited for beginners.
    2. ADVANCED:
      • Includes all STANDARD menu functions plus additional ones.
      • Recommended for experienced pump users.
    3. CUSTOM:
      • Enables organization of pump functions according to individual needs.
      • Can be set up using PC-based configuration software.

    By default your pump is in STANDARD user menu. The Extended or Multiwave boluses and different basal rate profiles are only accessible in the ADVANCED User Menu by changing your Therapy Settings. You can also access this by using the pump Reminders.
