If you have already acquired the diabetes manager together with the Accu-Chek Spirit Combo insulin pump,
the two devices will already have been paired.
If you acquired the devices separately or after a Warning W10: Bluetooth® FAULT,
you must pair the devices before they can communicate with each other.
When Pairing your Accu-Chek Spirit Combo insulin pump with the Accu-Chek Combo diabetes manager,
place both devices on a table or desk, so that you can see the displays of both devices clearly.
You should not perform the pairing process in crowded areas,
since electronic signals from other devices could interfere with the pairing process.
Let's see how to pair the devices.
At the end of this lesson you will know how to:
Let's start with learning how to pair the pump and diabetes manager.
When Bluetooth® wireless technology is turned off, you cannot access the PAIRED DEVICE menu.
The pump starts searching and detects the diabetes manager, displaying its serial number. This process may take several minutes.
If the pairing is not successful at the first attempt, wait a few minutes before you repeat the procedure in a less crowded environment.
In case of problems with the Bluetooth® connection, you have to repeat the pairing procedure described here. Since only one diabetes manager at a time can be paired with your pump, you must delete the old pairing before you can pair your pump with a new diabetes manager. Here's how.
To remove a paired device, you don't need to delete the pairing on the diabetes manager.
Click on the demo diabetes manager buttons to practice what you have just learnt. If you decide to practice any functions on your own Insulin pump or diabetes manager, make sure the infusion set is disconnected from your body so that there is no chance of accidental insulin delivery. Ensure all your settings are put back to where they should be at the end of the practice.
You have completed the pairing your pump with your diabetes manager section.
